FAQs about the online shop

Where’s my coffee?
We completely understand that you would like your coffee to arrive on your doorstep as soon as you have ordered it. When you place an order via our online shop, you will receive a DHL tracking number as soon as your parcel is ready for dispatch. This means that you can go online at any time to check where your coffee is. If the tracking status is displayed as "delivered" and the parcel is not with your neighbour/at your storage location, please contact us directly by email.

How long will it take for my coffee to arrive?
As a rule, all online orders are processed within 1 to 2 working days, made ready for dispatch and handed over to the parcel service provider. Unfortunately, we have little influence over how long the delivery process will ultimately take. As a rule, however, you can expect DHL to deliver within 3-4 working days.

How fresh is the coffee?
Our roasting drum operates from Monday to Friday, thus enabling us to guarantee that our stores and customers receive freshly roasted coffee every day. In general, we apply a best-before date of one year (the legal limit is 2 years). This date is either applied to each bag with a sticker or directly embossed onto the bag’s seal. This means that you can also check when the coffee was roasted and packaged. Please note that after roasting, the coffee is allowed to rest for 5 to 10 days, thus allowing all the aromas to harmonise.

How is the coffee packaged?
Whether wholebean or ground, all of the coffees available in our online shop are packaged and sealed in aroma protection bags. The bags also have a valve so that the freshly roasted coffee can release gases, thus preventing the bags from inflating excessively or even bursting. The environment and your health are important to us, so naturally we consider the composition of the bags we use. We are happy to say that the bags’ aluminium content is less than 2%.

Which grind is right for me?
We have compiled a small overview for you under Degree of grinding.

What’s the best way to store coffee?
After roasting, coffee’s biggest “enemies” are heat, moisture and oxygen. Coffee should be stored away from all three. The best way to store coffee is in a sealed container (coffee can, sealed bag, etc.) in a place that doesn’t get too warm. Don’t store coffee in the refrigerator, however, as the moisture in the refrigerator can have a negative effect on it. The freezer would be a better solution here. In general, it should also be noted that ground coffee can lose its flavour more quickly than wholebean coffee.

Does coffee go off?
When stored properly, coffee doesn't go off in and of itself. Over time, however, it begins to lose its flavour and if stored for a very long time (over 2 years) the oils in the bean can begin to decompose and the coffee will develop a "rancid" taste. We therefore recommend using coffee beans within 6-8 months and ground coffee within 4-6 weeks. This way, you enjoy the coffee’s full aroma and the best flavour. That’s why we roast fresh coffee every day for you: to ensure the perfect coffee enjoyment experience.
