Each praline symbolises one of the three sons of the renowned banker Simon Moritz von Bethmann. According to legend, the Bethmännchen once decorated four almonds, but after the death of one of Bethmann's children, one almond was removed.
The Bethmännchen are available either in a blister or in a decorative wooden box showing the famous Frankfurt Römer.
