In Thailand, Arabica beans account for only 2% of the country's total coffee harvest. Our Arabica, from the Mystic Hill Tribe project, is grown at altitudes of 700 to 1500 metres in the mountainous regions of northern Thailand. The hill tribes, who previously only cultivated opium fields, were supported in the 1970s, on the initiative of the Thai king, to cultivate coffee plants on small plots. The opium fields were cleared and shady fruit trees were planted next to the coffee plants.
The voluminous strength and aroma is characterised by dark chocolate, caramel, a spiciness of cardamom and fruity plum.
The farmers market their coffee themselves in cooperatives, thus ensuring good quality at fair prices.

Beschreibung
In Thailand beträgt der Anteil an Arabica-Bohnen nur 2% der gesamten Kaffeeernte des Landes. Unser Arabica, aus dem Mystic Hill Tribe Projekt, wird in Höhen von 700 bis 1500 Metern in den Gebirgsregionen Nordthailands angebaut. Die Bergvölker, die bisher nur Opiumfelder bewirtschafteten, wurden in den 70er Jahren, auf Initiative des thailändischen Königs, unterstützt um auf kleinen Parzellen Kaffeepflanzen anzubauen. Die Opiumfelder wurden gerodet und neben den Kaffeepflanzen wurden schattenspendende Obstbäume gepflanzt. Die voluminöse Kraft und Aromatik ist geprägt von dunkler Schokolade, Karamell, einer Würze von Kardamom und fruchtiger Zwetschge.
Die Bauern vermarkten ihren Kaffee selbst in Kooperativen, somit ist eine gute Qualität zu fairen Preisen gewährleistet.
